Swimming Free of Hooks

This is my entry into the July "Community Exhibit," at La Selles Stewart Center on the Oregon State University campus. "Swimming Free of Hooks" is 24" x 36", acrylic with some interference colors on museum wrapped canvas.

Summer Run Steelhead on South Santiam

I took my paints today and painted some wild flowers when I wasn't fishing. The many fishermen made interesting subjects too.

Steelhead Tale

On my first fishing trip of the year not only was the weather beautiful, but my husband allowed me to reel in this beauty. When at home I I was allowed to paint the tail before dinner.

The acrylic painting is on a cradeled Masonite board 12" square.

"Aquarius" started out as just a piece that acquired some excess paint from the blue bird painting I didn't complete today. Then I became interested in this one. It went through several stages. It was first a sunset, then a tree, and finally acquired a few fish scales. I liked the sky this morning and maybe their color found its way into my play for the day.

"Fish Eyes" has interference color and looks different as you move from one to the other side of the painting. I like interference colors when painting my abstracted interpretaions of fish. I also used a net to print net texture. The past few days I have enjoyed using net in my paintings.
