Gull and Clam

After a very stormy Wednesday on Thursday we were rewarded with one of the most beautiful days at Newport, Oregon. My husband dug clams while I watched the birds. There was a bald eagel and gulls also finding and opening clams. After returning home and helping prepare a chowder, I painted this acrylic painting 3 foot by 1 foot.

Nice watery blues and greens! I really like this one.

I like the colors but wonder if it shouldn't have more indecation that it is tidal flats with water running out to sea. I think the curved division at the horizon should be straightened and suggest more distance. It doesn't make any difference if it is seen as land or water. Just needs tobe distant. and the clam needs to be dropping on wet sand.
