New Outdoor Painting Series

This February afternoon was exceptional for painting outside here in Oregon. I felt so good about being outside, I didn't even mind that there were no blue birds to paint. My newly prepared masonite board was very responsive to the brush stroke. The board is a 12" square allowing me more freedom than the smaller sizes.

Beautiful! I really like the looseness and spontaneity of this piece.

Great piece! I like the negative space in the sky...very beautiful, yet intimidating.

Thank you Martha and Jeff. I had no idea when I painted it that it would be the last one when our old pasture was whole. Now it is a hole until the new house is built. I am still working on one about the fir tree canapy on the ground.

Dear Martha,

Lorelle Miller here. You had commented on my painting the Narrows, and I wanted to say that I love your expressive style of painting. Sorry I did not respond sooner, just figured out how to get back to you.
